Does North American Films charge a fee for its services?
No. Unlike reps and sales agents, NAF asks for no money from filmmakers.
What genres of titles do you consider for distribution?
We are interested in viewing English-language features of all genres.
What budgets do you consider?
We routinely consider features of all budgets, from $10,000 DV projects up to multi-million dollar productions.
Can I submit my short for consideration?
No. At this time, NAF is focused solely on acquiring, marketing and distributing feature-lenght properties.
Do you accept movies that were shot on DV?
Yes. We recognize the fact that digital has become the format of choice for many independent filmmakers. Please be aware, however, that NAF can only seriously consider features that already have available a high-quality master suitable for home video release.
Can you get my film into theatrical release?
No. NAF operates within the home video channel only.
What type of licensing agreement would be involved in NAF were to distribute my film?
If your feature is selected for distribution NAF would require you to grant it the exclusive right to manufacture, market and distribute your film to the home video channel for a limited term (typically 3 years). NAF does not purchase your film from you; you retain all ownership of your property throughout the entire licensing term. Additionally, NAF is only interested in home video rights, leaving you free to pursue other distribution deals in theatrical, international, broadcast, Internet and mobile channels.
